The UWO Project is designed to make moving to and living in Oshkosh a better experience for members of the University community. The project sprung from many concerns about the lack of support for incoming faculty/staff (plus their families) and the transitions they face from acceptance to the first day of classes.
As a member of the University community I remember very well when Mike and I first joined UW-Oshkosh. We were lucky and happened upon a great Real Estate agent who showed us the town, helped us find a place to rent and eventually served as our Buyer's Agent when we bought our first home. I hope to serve an additional role as well, your guide to the lifestyle that comes with joining the UW-Oshkosh community. If you ever have any questions about the UW-Oshkosh project, or anything about being part of this community email or call me at 920-203-1155 anytime.
The Project has four components:

2) The Tour of Oshkosh
This
is an afternoon tour of Oshkosh focusing on the University, neighborhoods and general activities for incoming faculty, staff and temporary lecturer personnel and their families. This is a FREE program. Sign up is available below.
So many questions. Find the answers with a tour of your new community.
The excitement, trepidation, bewilderment of starting a new position and finding a place to live in a new community can feel as if your head is going to explode. A great first step, instead of reaching for the aspirin, is signing up for an afternoon's personal tour of the campus and Oshkosh.
The campus tour is not the one where you visit the Dean's office and HR. This one will show you where the UW-Oshkosh Credit Union is located and give you an opportunity to talk to the staff about what is available. You will see the Frederick March Theater and Music Hall. There will be a stop by the workout gym to meet some of the personal trainers. Because the tour is personal, the agenda will be open to your needs.
The tour of Oshkosh will hit all of the highlights, the Grand Opera House, the Public Music, etc., but it will also orient you to the neighborhoods in close proximity to the University, the grocery stores, the schools, downtown, parks, attractions, pretty much anything that will make your transition easier.
Use the mail-to form to set up your tour. Please include the dates you will be in town. You will receive a response within 24 hours with a tour date and time.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
3) Match Link
A matching program through OshkoshNeighborhoods.com that will allow housing matching for faculty/staff who are here for a defined period of time. The housing and the faculty/staff member would be matched through an application which remains confidential until a tentative match is made. This is a FREE service.
Do you have a home, apartment or room available for a visiting faculty/staff member? Are you going on sabbatical and would love a full time home sitter? Are you a visiting faculty/staff member? Are you willing to do all of this for FREE?
Whether you will be gone for the year or are here just for interim, check here to see if maybe there is a perfect match for your housing dilemma.
Fill out the mail-to form and you will be contacted within 24 hours for your listing details or housing request. ALL listings/requests will remain confidential until a potential housing match has been made. Then each party will be provided with contact information.
4) Rental Properties
An application and listing of a selective group of homes, duplexes and similar available to rent to faculty, staff and temporary lecturer personnel. The University member and landlord apply for the service. The privacy of both would remain until a listing matches the specifications in the application. This is an exclusive service for the University community and properties that meet exacting standards. The rental properties would be subject to a rental agreement fee.
